Music & guitars in particular is a massive passion for Dean and he just loved chatting to these two musicians from Brisbane & the Sunshine Coast. He was able to try out a few lighting styles that he had been dying to try for a while and he was very happy with the results.

Men’s executive portrait session with Sergio

We are thrilled to announce our new style Men’s executive portraits, exclusive to Dean Agar Photography. We scoured Australia to find our beautiful, authentic film light from Paramount Studios in Hollywood. She is from the 1940’s and still has the name plate for Paramount Studio on the back. The bulb was missing and the wiring was for US but that was fine, we just wanted the shell and she looks amazing. We were so happy when we located her in Melbourne and can only imagine the movies and TV shows that she may have been a part of from 1939 and onwards until she was retired.

When paired up with a nice bit of haze, a golden gel and our newly created background, we get the exact look that we were looking for. For this session you will see Sergio looking absolutely amazing and helping us to achieve exactly what we had envisaged when we conceived the idea a month ago. Putting your best image forward with great headshots.

There is so much competition out there these days that you must have the best headshot possible. This applies to both actors and to corporate branding headshots. Your headshot must be up to date and it needs to show your personality and to be able to connect with your audience & ideal client straight away.

We take our sessions slowly and we perfect each pose before we move onto another. We pose you perfectly according to the style of session, your body shape and taking your personal concerns into account. We aim to achieve the most flattering pose possible in the very best lighting possible for you. Dean is always perfecting the pose for you and Karen is watching at all times for any issues like costume malfunctions, creases, hair problems etc so that your images are as close to perfect for you as possible, straight out of camera.

Whilst we like to soften women off and keep it all very feminine, we do have a habit of ‘grunging’ up our guys and using a harder light.

Put your best headshot forward

Recently we have had a range of people come to us for a headshot photography session. We can give you the best headshot photos possible so that you stand out from the rest in this very competitive world. Whether you are wanting a headshot session for your model/actors folio, corporate or business use or an online dating site; we can help you to get the best results possible. We know how to pose all shapes, sizes and ages and we use both natural light and flash lighting depending upon the style of images wanted.

You should bring in 3 – 6 outfits for your session and I will choose the best and most appropriate outfits from the selection you bring. It is best to avoid spots, checks and busy patterns. I often find that neutral colours are the best as they don’t detract from your face. We want the viewer of your headshot to focus on your face rather than the outfit that you are wearing. It is good though to throw in one or two bold coloured tops or shirts if you have them so that we have the option.

These actors headshots were for Taylor Glockner who plays Mason Turner in Neighbours. Taylor’s home town is Brisbane and he came to us whilst on a break for some new actors headshots as he is off to the USA shortly to further his acting career.

Mao is a local R&B and Hip Hop artist based on the Gold Coast. He came to us this week for some promotional images with the view of gaining some acting and modelling work. He had a fantastic look and seemed right at home in front of the camera.
